What is Wrong with Your Marriage Plant?

Seeds need to be watered, nurtured and pruned to grow.
The seed itself is not “great” if it is not planted and nurtured. Most seeds need fertilization. Water plays a major role in that process. The seed needs to be broken down (to decomposition) before it can grow. Sometimes it might struggle to grow, that is why the fertilizing agents are needed to help it reach its full potential which is to FLOURISH.
Three stages
Planting stage (While planting, add all the fertilizing agents to the soil, so that it can grow. Is your soil good enough? Did you plant using the right soil)
Growing stage (The process of waiting to see the first sprout. Is your plant struggling to grow?)
Flourishing Stage (The full potential phase. Is your marriage at its full potential?)
Too much water can stunt its growth
Too much sunlight can do the same thing
Good or bad foundation? (then anything can blow it away, if it is not well rooted)
Not in the right space? (too close to another plant taking up all the fertilizing agents?)
Now imagine your healthy marriage as what you are trying to nurture. These are fertilizing agents you need to help it grow.
Sexual Intimacy
Friendship
Communication
Conflict Resolution (Anger)
Trust
Money Management
Spiritual intimacy
Life balance
Confidence
Respect
Boundaries
Just like the plant, you need someone to be intentional about it. The same thing goes in marriage, you need someone to unravel the past so that you can become a better seed and then grow into a flourishing plant..that plant is your marriage.
Questions to ponder…
What does your parents' marriage plant look/looked like?
-What was it lacking?
-Do you lack the same thing?
When you envision the tree of your marriage, what does it look like? Is it healthy?
What stage of planting are you in? Is there anything you can do to help your marriage plant look better?
What does your plant look like today?
What is your plant lacking?
What kinds of resources are you willing to invest to make your marriage plant look healthy?
